Names
This articles outlines the basic definition of names.
Names
Names don’t hold much value in the Rivvi culture. Instead, numbers do the job in cities, towns and villages connected to the Hellgate System. Registered individuals receive a unique number that is considered identification. However, Rivvi are usually not called by their numbers, but rather named by their parents, siblings, friends or themselves. Names do not work like a privilege or an identity, they are simply something people get called by others, therefore they can easily be changed if necessary.
Surnames
Surnames are usually not part of a Rivvi's name, except for royals, clans or big families. Surnames are names of people that have written history. While surnames don’t pose as privilege, it does tie name holders closer together and gives a feeling of cohesion and belonging. It simply indicates a person’s family background.
