The Devil (plural devils) are an artificial race created by the Mortals to serve as living war machines. They are renowned for their great Magic-resistance - the highest among mortal creatures. Because of that, they exhibit a state of constant hunger, leading to a dangerous, potentially cannibalistic state if not enough food is consumed.

Characteristics

A devil's mind is often overpowered by it's body due to the high magic resistance resulting into energy loss, therefore falling into a state of hunger, eating any living being in sight to restore their energy. To prevent the devil’s mind from fighting back, it gets blocked off entirely by the body, turning it into a mindless powerful creature until enough energy is restored. For war purposes, scientists created a state, which balances mind and power during the hunger state almost evenly. After the Great war, the devil were no longer needed and people began to fear their hunger. The devil, now cast out by people, came close to extinction. Nowadays, the devil are a rare sight, usually found somewhere far from civilization or in the slums of bigger cities.

Appearance

Devils can be divided into two sub-races, the red devil and the black devil. Despite being very similar to each other, the black devil has up to three times as much power as the red devil and can reach about double their height, but has a shorter lifespan. Due to black devils having an even higher Magic-resistance than red devils, their state of hunger is worse.

Both sub-races share a pair of horns on their heads. Unlike other Koma species, devils lack both a tail and wings.
