Xavior Ranut (* April 3rd 2032 BC, † 2025), nicknamed The Thinker, was a dragonic scholar, explorer, and librarian from the planet of Dione. He is best known for his Books of Xavior, a very accurate account of history. Over the years he lead countless explorations and worked as an advisor for many different factions. He was part of the exploration that first discovered the Human race in the Sol system.

Life

Xavior was born on April 3rd 2023 BC in the city of Ion on the planet of Dione. He was born into the Ranut dynasty, a long line of scholars and teachers. His mother was Eona Ranut, the head teacher on the Magna Universitas Ionensis, the great university of Ion, and his father was Ramut Ranut, a local blacksmith, who died when he was five years old. Because of his mothers wealth, he was able to attend university, where he met his life-long friend and fellow explorer Zsivius Tron. He graduated with a degree in ancient magic, and cosmology in 2008 BC. Over his life, he employed life-preserving technologies to allow himself to far surpass his lifespan.

Work

Over the years, Xavior was part of multiple exploration, the most of important of which were the first, second, and third Magna Exploratio, the great explorations. He was also perhaps most known as the author of the Books of Xavior, which provided an accurate account of history sourced from tales, exploration and the knowledge of ancient civilizations. His books were one of the reasons for the establishing of the Great Archive of Dione on the World Tree, of which he was the head librarian in the latter parts of his life. He was widely known as one of the most knowledgeable dragons and consulted by many factions as an advisor.

Explorations

Magna primum exploratio

Shortly after his graduation, mainly because of his work on the effects of ancient magic on the cosmos, he was approached by Zsivius to attend an exploration into the unknown star systems south of the Dione system. The exploration focused on exploring potentially habitable planets for demonic colonies and resource exploitation. It was mainly funded by the Magna Universitas Ionensis and businessman and merchant Tinur Fregra. It was during this exploration, that he discovered his love for archiving. He served as a scientific advisor to the exploration and began to document everything that happened, down to minute details.

The exploration found three potential star systems with four habitable planets and discovered the forgotten ancient civilization of [placeholder] on the planet of [placeholder], which whom he unsuccessfully tried to established communication. After attempting to land on [placeholder] and failing, the exploration continued onward - a fact that would hunt him for years. He would later state, that "The failed communication attempt during my first exploration was perhaps my biggest blunder. I was young and hungry for knowledge, with this failure in the back of my head, only more failures were to come - or so I thought at that time". He would later return to [placeholder] and successfully establish communication with the [placeholder]. After four years, the exploration returned, and he began working at the Magna Universitas Ionensis as a professor for cosmology.

Magna exploratio secunda

On January 31 1987 BC, he was once again approached by Zsiviusl, in an attempt to explore the regions northern of the system of Dione. This was perhaps the most important exploration of all time, because it discovered the human race in the Sol system.

The exploration consisted of forty explorers and scholars, in an attempt to explore the effects of the Great Barrier, the barrier between the Dione and the northern galaxy, through which no signals were able to pass. Over the course of the exploration around half of all explorers died of undisclosed causes, although it was suspected to involve a rare case of radiation poisoning. Other rumors speak of a punishment for crossing the barrier by the God of Life. Nevertheless, the exploration carried onward, further and further away from Dione. It reached the Sol system around two years after starting it's journey. Xavior, as the lead scholar onboard, decided to not interfere with the primitive civilization of the human race, and instead chose to observe their behavior. He observed very violent behavior and described the humans as a "race of violent, brutal beings with a life goal of killing each other", and marked the planet as unstable, further observation required. The exploration placed a surveillance station in the orbit of the main planet Earth, which the human later called Moon.

Other outcomes of the exploration included multiple new inhabitable planets and the discovery of the ancient worm hole near the Sol system.
