Possessed Buildings are buildings classified as possessed. They are created, when a higher ranked spirit fuses with a building and takes full control of it. The process of fusion takes between a few decades to a century and is not visible to the untrained eye.

After obtaining full control, the spirit is able to change the entire building from the inside, while the outside stays the same. Some spirits actively change the building (open, close and lock doors, change floor plans or deny entry to the building, while others only slightly change parts of the building over time). After fusion spirits are mute and can only communicate through the building. Nevertheless, spirits are able to show their feelings. They can for example destroy the building if angered, which in turn kills themselves, and bond with mortals over performed actions. Possessed buildings are often safer than regular buildings due to the spirits strong will and intelligence. Possessions mostly happen due to strong emotional or traumatic bonding to the building are is irreversible. On rare occasions, possessing spirits can project an image of their former selves within the building.
