Ion

Ion, the capital of Vencour and one of Dione's largest metropolitan centers, is a modern city of immense size that expands both vertically and horizontally. Towering skyscrapers dominate the skyline, while layered streets, rooftops, and elevated walkways create a city that exists on multiple levels rather than a single ground plane. Countless lights and holographic art installments illuminate the city day and night.

The city is divided into five sectors and subdivided into thirteen districts that all focus on different aspects of the city and suggest a slight social hierarchy.

Central tower:

The central tower marks the center of the roundabout and functions as the city administration headquarters. It is one of the tallest and most noticable buildings in Ion and contains multiple conference rooms, some even rentable. The lower section of the tower functions as a city hall while the top of the tower is reserved for the most important political figures from all of Dione.

Hellgate:

Most systems in Ion are controlled by a mega computer located under the city. The WSA works day and night to fix any hardware and software issues, fight viruses and cut off connections to prevent damage to the computer or any of it's depending users.

WSA (working services association):

The WSA is divided into the digital and the analogue department. WSA workers have the very important task to maintain Hellgate. Since the mega computer stores important data and manages important systems, the software must run flawlessly and must be protected from dataleaks and attacks. To prevent access to anyone wit harmful intentions, every new WSA employee must undergo an extensive background check as well as multiple skill tests and training lessons. Any information around Hellgate is kept strictly private.

Star tower:

The star tower is another tall, striking building that stands out from Ion's skyline. It is a luxurious apartment building that houses political figures and celebrities of all kinds. The higher the apartment the higher the status.

Ion festival island:

Off the shores of Ion, an artificial island marks the best spot for music festivals of all kinds. Every now and then big events fill up the island with people from all over Dione. The island consists of a big cluster of stages (one big main stage and multiple small sub stages for dancers), tons of screens and lights as well as a big area for the crowd.
